Samples have been specially recorded and processed to make them ideally suited to use in pop, rock and metal productions. if it continues after that and you have done everything, including using a different usb cable, then contact NI about it.The MT Power Drum Kit is a new drum sampler offering the powerful, high-quality sounds of an acoustic, realistic drum kit. if that does not work, try it on another computer. if this does not work, re-install the software. so power down the computer, disconnect the power cord for 5 seconds, reset the pram as directed in previous post when powering back on. resetting the pram you could as well try as you may have a flaky setting in the OS that needs to be rewritten. to do so, you simply have to unplug the iMac for 5 seconds, but if the device is showing up in the system info on the USB tree, then it is likely a driver issue and in this case, since the MK3 uses the OS built in USB drivers, it is an OS issue.
sometimes usb issues are caused by the PMU, which needs to be reset. The mk3 is driverless, so the controller editor install is part of the maschine software now and does not need the earlier version to install the driver, you have to install maschine again, and the controller editor can interfere with maschine - check to make sure that the mk3 controller icon is present, it is on the right top next to the levels and cpu. also, power the controller before you launch maschine or any other DAW since it is also an audio card.
are you using an external USB hard drive or flash drives, if so, these need to be connected before you launch maschine and connect/power the controller. i usually just have to quit and relaunch maschine, but sometimes a restart is required. Ah, i have had that happen exactly as you describe, lights on but unresponsive pads/controls, after i connect a usb flash drive or some hard drives, it causes the OS usb bus to crash for maschine.
